I enjoyed this game quite a bit. It's not a master piece but it's quite entertaining on its own merit and has a very unique style.
I never played any of the Mercenaries games, but this was kinda reminiscent of other sandbox games like Red Faction Guerrilla or Far Cry (3 and onwards). The style is basically the same and everything related to the liberation of Paris aspect also felt very similar to what you could find in those games.
The story itself is not great but was serviceable. I can see why a game like this went unnoticed back in 2009, when there were so many 3rd person sandbox games, specially having so many bugs and half-baked mechanaics but... sometimes it just works, despite all of that.
