Let me be clear from the start. I did enjoy this game.
BUT
This is not a game everyone will enjoy. It starts pretty fun for the first 2-3 hours until you get to the first forced stealth section. That section is not a huge deal but it marks the point where the game will stop being a fun walk and start being more of a pain.
After that the game will start pushing a lot of tanky enemies, a dumb giant robot boss and a insta kill weapon that can kill you through walls/doors. It's fun to use but it's not easy to know when enemies are targetting you with one of these so expect to die a lot.
Level-design-wise, it's overall pretty bland and the destructible environments do not offer an advantage in combat but combined with exploration you may find advantageous positions to take out your enemies easier than the predefined default paths. I did enjoy exploration in this game, because it's full of small secrets.
The game requires a community patch if you want to play with some modern benefits
Now: why did I (kinda) enjoy this game? The initial plot really got me. A miner insurrection on Mars, where a big company is making them work to death? That really sounded like something SpaceX would do someday. Idk I thought it was interesting and made me stick to it. But don't let my review fool you, it's just another of those dumb early 2000s game
