To be perfectly clear: this is the first time I ever play this game. Before this, I've played FC3: Blood Dragon, some FC2 and FC5.
FC2 might have the best plot for me. I don't see why everyone liked Vaas so much. Yea, he's insane and he's kinda funny and all but other than that, his performace falls flat in being a villain, probably because he dies way too soon. There's this other guy, Hoyt, who's pulling the strings and also is kinda crazy but he actually shouldn't exist. Vaas should be the one and only villain/antagonist that you meet during the entire game, building this rivalry and fueling Jason's revenge until the very last moment of the game.
Having Hoyt as a mastermind had no effect in me and made that part of the story feel very forced and not that interesting.
I was expecting so much more from this game, I guess because everyone talked so positively of this game throughout the years which probably hyped my expectations.
Gameplay wise it's ok. Some missions are boring and others are fun, but the "Ubisoft open world" design is more a detriment than a benefit to this game (and all the other games that follow this formula).
